Fitness Photography in Melbourne

I train myself, so I know what a lift is supposed to look like at the top of the rep. That matters more than it sounds. The difference between a good fitness photo and a flat one is usually timing and knowing the movement.

Shot at the right moment

Every exercise has one frame where the muscle is loaded and the body reads properly. Miss it by half a second and the same lift looks weak. I shoot in bursts through the working portion of the rep so we always have the peak.

Light that shows the work

Hard directional light carves definition. Soft light flattens it. Most gym lighting does you no favours on its own, so I bring what is needed and use the room rather than fight it.

Questions

Good to know

When should I train before a shoot?
Train the muscle group lightly about thirty to sixty minutes before. Enough for a pump, not enough to fatigue your form. Skip the heavy session the day before.
Where do we shoot?
Your own gym is ideal since you know the equipment and staff. If access is a problem I have Melbourne gyms I can arrange.
Do you shoot competition prep?
Yes. Peak week and stage ready shoots are something I understand from the inside.
